Who is Martin Neely & Associates?

Martin Neely & Associates'
New Paradigm of Planning
Gives You Absolute Protection
and Peace of Mind

What I describe as the "new paradigm" of estate planning is the original way that estate planning attorneys worked with their clients back in the days when the only clients who used estate planning attorneys were the ultra wealthy families. In the early 1990s, attorneys began to educate the masses about the benefits of planning and a new generation of "wills and trusts" attorneys began hawking documents through seminars and articles. And, the traditional model of the estate attorney as the trusted and personal family advisor went by the wayside in favor of a one-size fits all approach designed to serve as many people as possible in a short period of time.

When I graduated from law school with a dream of becoming a personal family advisor to my clients, I was rudely awakened by how impersonal the relationship between attorney and client had become and I entertained the possibility that I had made a huge mistake by going to law school. But, rather than get discouraged by what was, I decided that I would bring the heart of the old into the soul of the new. Martin Neely & Associates is the law firm that brings that personal family lawyer relationship to you even if you are not a Rockefeller, a Kennedy or a Carnegie.

Our law practice is right for you if you want the peace of mind of knowing that a trusted advisor is going to be there for you and your family for life. We see a plan as so much more than a set of documents that you sign and then never look at again. We know that an estate plan is something that affects every area of your life - you, your assets, your loved ones - and that all of those things will change between the time when you sign your planning documents and the time of your death. And, of course, we know the law will change many times.

We work with you to design a comprehensive plan that protects you and your assets and makes things as easy as possible for your loved ones when something happens to you. We keep you regularly informed about issues that affect your life and your plan and review your plan with you regularly throughout your life to ensure that it continues to meet your needs. And you have the total assurance and comfort of knowing that the people you love most have a trusted place to turn to for guidance and care at the time of your death or incapacity. Of course, we prepare documents - we are lawyers after all! - but, the documents are really the by-product of the relationship that we have to protect you, your family and your assets. So, we don't charge fees for the preparation of documents; we are paid for our guidance, counsel and advice - the documents are free.

6 Hallmarks of the New Paradigm:

1. All of our Fees are flat fees; we don't bill for our time hourly because we know you hate surprises when they come in the form of invoices, and so do we!

2. We know that planning affects every area of your life and that it is our job to attend to all of the little details of your plan to make sure it works when your family most counts on it and to be highly responsive to your family's needs.

3. Keeping you informed is critical to us; we constantly educate ourselves about the newest and best techniques to protect you and your family and we communicate with you regularly to let you know what we learn.

4. We make sure your plan keeps up with you; throughout your life, your assets change, your family changes, you change and the law definitely changes; we review your plan at least every three years and have annual membership programs for clients desiring even more service.

5. As your Personal Family Lawyer, we take care of your whole family from providing estate check-ups of your parent's estates and low cost amendments to making sure that your young adult children have the basic documents that they need as they embark on their own future.

6. We make the planning process incredibly easy and painless for you and your family. You may even look forward to talking to your Personal Family Lawyer and dropping in at our office for some muffins, chocolate, coffee or a chat.

"Any law office can provide the necessary documents to create a family estate. The Martin Neely office handled our estate planning in a personal, thoughtful and patient manner. Being "first timers" we had many questions regarding our plan and a few times asked them repeatedly until we understood the answer. Never were we made to feel put down regarding our naiveté. The feeling in the office from the personalized welcome sign out front to the calm, warm reception from all members of the staff, makes us feel very comfortable in the offices. I am happy to be a Martin Neely client and recommend them whenever I talk with someone who needs such services."
